Missing Documents
The client was considering a run for Congress. A disgruntled employee had taken documents allegedly showing financial irregularities in the client's business accounting practices. The former employee also claimed to have a weapon and had threatened to shoot himself and/or the client. For obvious reasons, the client was reluctant to involve local police. We were provided with the former employee's cell phone… and were engaged to negotiate the return of the documents and a de-escalation of the situation. The outcome was positive for all concerned.
